It’s been twenty six years of fabulous teaching for Mrs. Janet Morrison. Bethany has been blessed to have her be a part of their staff for fifteen of those years.

Janet has earned two educational degrees. She has a BS in Education (Elementary grades 1-8) and a BS in High School Economics (grades 7-12) from Concordia, River Forest and Rosary Catholic College. Her teaching career has taken her to many schools, including: Lutheran High School South, Chicago (Home Economics), St. Thomas Lutheran School (7th-8th grade teacher), Lakewood City Schools (Adult Education/Home Economics - 4 years), and Rocky River City Schools (Home Economics - 5 years).

Mrs. Morrison is a member of the HECTA (National Home Economics Career and Technology Association). She is a new grandmother and enjoys working out at Curves, coaching track, gardening, and cooking.

Inside 7th Grade

Our 7th grade class is blessed with many avenues of learning and academic success. Students this year will continue to develop in providing many skills by a departmentalized team. Some of our 7th grade students will have the opportunity to participate in Pre-Algebra, making them eligible for our Algebra I class next year, through our High School Distance Learning program. Seventh graders are also challenged in their writing skills with formula writings. I have the privilege to teach both 7th & 8th grade English. We study ways to become better students by writing personal biographies. We provide critical thinking and many opportunities to become self motivated with our technology.  Our Literature, History, and Geography books are available online, as well as in the classroom.  Students read books outside of our Literature textbook, such as “Lost in the War,” and reading levels continue to grow with our Accelerated Reader Program.

Seventh and eighth grade students will take a trip to Washington D.C. this year and learn about our Nation’s foundation. They will enjoy a scavenger hunt in the Smithsonian and a night hike to visit the memorials. A dinner cruise down the Potomac River will also be a highlight.
