OPPORTUNITIES FOR GIVING

Friends of Bethany Lutheran School can financially sustain our programs through a variety of funding alternatives. We have identified some of the most common avenues of gifts our community of supporters have utilized in supporting the

on-going educational ministry at BLS. For questions or more information on any of our Opportunities for Giving, please contact Edward Ristau at 440.884.1010 X158 or eristau@bethanyparma.com

GIVE A SUPPORTING GIFT TODAY

The Singular Gift

One-time gifts provide assistance to many of the programs that each year require financial attention in supporting the ministry of Bethany Lutheran School.

The Annual Gift

Annual gifts are integral to Bethany Lutheran School’s long-term success. Annual gifts provide the expansion of our visionary educational programming and assist in sustaining the work we already do with existing curricular areas.

The Memorial Gift

A memorial gift provides the opportunity to honor a family member or friend. It is a special consideration to present Bethany Lutheran School with this unique contribution as a commemorative acknowledgment.

The Endowment Gift

Endowment gifts are significant donations that provide permanent annual support for Bethany Lutheran School. For example, you can endow an annual scholarship to assist in tuition aid for a student[s] or continued support of our outstanding professional staff through the gift of providing for an academic endowed chair. This is a special opportunity to establish a permanent legacy and inspire others to assist us in meeting the financial needs of exemplary educational programming. Specific endowment opportunities include:

SCHOOL FINANCIAL AID / TUITION ASSISTANCE - These funds will be used to offset a portion of the cost to attend Bethany Lutheran School for families that desire to have their children receive a Christ-centered education.

FUTURE CHURCH WORKER - Donated funds will be used to provide support for Bethany congregation students enrolled in one of the programs within the LCMS that prepare individuals for full-time church work.

CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT - Donated funds will be available for new building and improvement projects.

BETHANY CHURCH PROGRAMS - Funds will be used as special gifts to support various ministries and programs of Bethany Lutheran Church.

BETHANY SCHOOL PROGRAMS - Funds will be used to support Bethany Lutheran School programs.

UNDESIGNATED - Funds will be used to support various Boards of Bethany or for special projects as designated by the BLEF Directory.

The Legacy Gift

One of the simplest ways to benefit BLS is to include the school in your will.  A bequest may be designated to a specific project or may be left undesignated for the school’s identified needs.

Strategic Giving

Strategic Giving provides Bethany Lutheran School with opportunities to offer specific programs for our students and professional staff that must come out of our annual general fund. Each category identifies an annual amount that is required to support the program; your generous contribution, shared in any amount, would be most appreciated and will help sustain the programs.

The Instrumental Program Fund [$7,500 annually] - The instrumental music program, an integral component of our Fine Arts curriculum, is offered every year as a 100% student-funded program above the cost of tuition. Gifts to The Instrumental Program Fund will reduce the student cost for participation and increase additional student participation.

The Instructional Technology Fund [$5,000 annually] - This fund provides for the purchase and upkeep of technology equipment necessary for the instruction of our students.  Used daily by our professional faculty and staff, this equipment must meet the demands of current technological programs to keep pace with the educational developments required and necessary for 21st century learning.

The Tuition Aid Fund - First-Child Non-Member [$4,000 annually] and Member [$2,700 annually]

With the cost of educating a child increasing every year, the BLS Tuition Aid Fund has become our greatest annual need.  Many families are simply no longer able to financially provide for a Christ-centered exemplary education for their children at BLS and look for other avenues [public, charter, on-line, etc.].  Your generous gift to the The Tuition Aid Fund would provide for students a reduced cost of tuition at BLS and make their Christian education opportunity feasible.

The Facility Improvement Fund [$2,500 annually] - This fund provides for a variety of needs [desks, chairs, IT infrastructure, other school building equipment, etc.] which are used daily throughout the academic year and eventually require repair and replacement.

The Professional Development Program Fund [$2,500 annually] - Our faculty, for the purposes of licensure renewal, credential upgrade, and advanced degrees, participates in on-going professional development at colleges and universities throughout Northeast Ohio.  The rationale for partial reimbursement of tuition costs, for successful completion of course work, is to assist our faculty with the significant differential in public school educator compensation.
