Mrs. Carol Hill - Second Grade
Second grade is fun, but hard work because we learn so many new things. In math we add and subtract with two and three digit numbers. We also learn to re-group. In handwriting we transition into cursive writing and do almost all of our work in cursive. In Social Studies we do a big project researching our family background. We interview family and bring in pictures to go with our written ancestor report.
We love going to the computer lab every week. We work on Math Facts in a Flash, Reading Eggs, and Easy Tech (which teaches us about the computer). We also use iPads in the classroom.
We go on terrific fieldtrips! The trip to Fire Safety House is so interesting! Experiencing the new Elephant Crossing Program at the zoo is great.
A trip to the nature center happens in the spring.
Our favorite time of the day is morning devotion, the praise songs we sing, and learning about Jesus.
Mrs. Hill and her husband, Rev. Gary Hill, will be taking a trip this June, 2012 to build Homes and Hope for the people of Haiti.
