Our Vision is to...

   Instill a passion for Learning.

Inspire a life of Christian Service.

   Ignite the Imagination.

I am so honored to be able to teach first grade and be able to share the love of Christ with my students.  It is great to watch their faith grow as we spend time in God’s word, sing praises and pray together.

Two important parts of first grade are reading and writing.  Reading and writing are the foundations for future academic success.  For this reason, the students will be reading every night and then tested each morning in our Accelerated Reading Program.   They will be doing some fun reading incentives such as Touchdown Reading, Reading Olympics and Treasure Reading.  First graders will have monthly book reports.  They will work on writing persuasive, narrative, expository and descriptive pieces through journals and writer’s workshop.

First graders will work on Earth Day Invention and Christmas Around the World Projects.

Field Trips will include an

in-school trip to Lake Farm Park and The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo

Students will be working in the computer lab and with IPads to further their learning by using instructional activities such as Reading Eggs and Math Facts in a Flash.
